Missouri 34, Texas A&M 27: Tigers win in College Station (again) with second-half eruption

It was Missouri's last trip to College Station for quite a while, and it ended up looking quite a bit like previous trips. The Tigers' offense exploded for four third-quarter touchdowns, and Mizzou overcame some bad breaks and bad penalties to win, 34-27.

Russell Hansbrough rushed 20 times for 199 yards and scored on two long runs in the third quarter, and Mizzou rushed for 335 yards as a team against a depleted Aggie defensive front. But a lot of the run success was set up by Maty Mauk's passing. The sophomore completed only 23 of 40 passes, but he completed a series of third-and-long passes in the third quarter to keep drives alive and set Hansbrough and others up for success. Bud Sasser caught six passes for 83 yards, but Jimmie Hunt (five for 85) had his best game in quite a while, and Darius White proved himself quite valuable, catching six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown in what might have been his first healthy game since September.

The Mizzou defense looked great once again. Texas A&M gained just 347 yards, but thanks to both some missed offensive opportunities and some bad fumbles luck, the Tigers had to make a goal line stand in the final minutes to ice the game. They did just that.

The win keeps Missouri's hopes of a second straight SEC East title alive. Georgia pasted Auburn to finish 6-2 in the SEC, which means the Tigers have to win out to take the division. Step 1: complete.

We'll talk more about this tomorrow. For now, commence celebration thread.
